After receiving the raw data from a diffusion tensor MRI, I implemented several common analysis techniques in MATLAB. By comparing each voxel’s intensity across multiple applied fields, the diffusion of water through the brain can be mapped into a volume of 3x3 diffusion tensors. This information can then be used to infer neural tube orientation and white-matter connectivity in each region.
